Another trip. This time I'm back in California. My nephew and I flew out last night as he needed to get home and my lovely daughter is having a bridal shower this weekend. I'm happy and excited to attend. Her BFF has planned and delegated and I'm certain it will be a wonderful day. My sisters and nieces and BFF will be there. But I am very tired from all this traveling. Still have two more trips a wedding and a reception.... then calm.... hopefully not before the storm.
I finished the wedding quilt. I sure hope they like it. It was a lot of work. The most challenging one I have done. Curved piecing, on point and mitered borders. Plus the size- a large quilt gets cumbersome to work on as it goes together. I like the way it turned out.... but.... it never looks like much until it is quilted! That's when the magic happens!
Right now only half a dozen have seen it... I don't want anyone to slip and show my girl. Or her to somehow see a picture of it. It goes to the quilter this weekend.
So I actually put the quilt in my checked luggage on a direct flight. Last time I came into LAX there were so many delays. Oh boy, I felt so bad for my future SIL because he was there to get me but the flight sat on the tarmac for 40 min then my bag was forever getting off the baggage claim and I was meeting him for the first time. I felt so bad that he had to wait and wait - So yesterday, we came right into the gate, the last gate right by the stairs to go to the carousel at baggage claim. My daughter said, "Call me when you get your bag...." well, she called to see how things were going. I told her, "We just got to baggage claim and the bells are going off that it is starting to drop bags.... I'm confident (hopeful) that my bag won't be one of the last off." BA-BAM! Who's bag was the first off the carousel! Yes, it was mine. And we walked outside and got in the car. That was crazy. I guess the little things get me jazzed.
So I guess that's about all that's happening. I think when I get home I'm going to get together with my other BFF and we are going to teach ourselves silk ribbon embroidery. So I can have some handwork to do on vacations, on a flight, at night or whenever it's not convenient to use a machine.
I may help my daughter do some mending and alterations.... her fiancé has a pair of Levi's that look as if he somehow managed to evade Wolverine just by the seat of his pants.
Have a lovely day, and a wonderful weekend. Whatever you do, and wherever you go, share a smile and a kind word or deed. God bless you!

Too Short Summer
What to do.... My to do list is pretty long....Got up made quiches for breakfast
and Coffee
Weeded in the garden
Planted more corn, peas, and flowers
Watered everything well.
Cleaned up and cleaned up the kitchen
Made a pitcher of Iced Tea
The floors and the windows and
the laundry need to be done as well
as bathrooms and vacuuming.....
My lovely daughter asked me to go
bike riding with her and I said I can't,
I have too much work to do....

And I thought about it and realized summer is too short and the work isn't going anywhere but she will soon be back in college far away.... So I went for a bike ride with her and it was wonderful... And of course I feel wonderful after getting my heart pumping....

This is the day that the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Time
Time is valuable... We have only so much in a day... 24 hours... And we need to use that time wisely... Enjoy ourselves and be productive... All at the same time....
In just two weeks my daughter will be home... I am so looking forward to it, but I have so much to do-
In preparation for her arrival.
Time... Wouldn't it be nice if you could bank it and use it when you needed some extra!
There are more projects than time in a day.
And tonight we have a baseball game... My son has tests tomorrow... So I am praying for the weather to force a rain cancellation. It is possible, but we will see... If it's not cancelled, I would like to make him stay home and do homework and pack for his school trip. He won't want to do that, but we will see....
It is such a time drain when there is so much to do.... Grades are more important than the game.... He won't play... He will just cheer for the team. It is still raining. So I pray that the rain is falling on the other schools field... greening it up for another day and freeing up some time for our family tonight.... God willing the phone will ring... the text will come in... until then I will pray.... Hopeful for a quiet evening at home warm, dry and rested.

Missing
I am enjoying my day. I went to the gym, had coffee with a friend, picked up paint samples at HD with my husband, and then sat down and looked through some pictures.... Good memories flooding in!

I miss this incredible young lady! 24 more days till her return.
I miss my mom.... She is deserving of the crown for putting up with and raising me, and my two sisters and brother- and now 11 grand kids... and taking care of her own mommy as well! Amazing Woman!
I miss my sisters and their families- 7 beautiful and bright children! I also miss my brother and his 2 girls!
I miss summer and all the beauty that the Lord God provided for our enjoyment and appreciation- but not our worship....
I miss my little Bitsy Boo! She was the best dog ever! Such a loving and sweet disposition... She had such a good temperament and traveled so well too!
Oh, I am so looking forward to summer days and evenings on the lake in the kayaks. Just being out enjoying the relaxing easy days of summer vacation! Time spent with family and friends in the warmth of the sun, as it shines brightly- like God smiling down on us.

Easter fun
God is so good.... He Sent his son Jesus to earth to save us from sin... so that we can be with Him for all eternity.... What a gift of love and sacrifice.
I made Resurrection muffins... I used a cinnamon struessel muffin mix used 1/2 the milk it called for- put a spoonful of batter in the bottom of the muffin cup and then placed a marshmallow to represent Jesus then filled the muffin cup with batter covering the marshmallow... took the struessel topping and covered the top of the batter.... Baked as directed.... I wasn't sure how it would turn out but it smelled amazing while it was cooking... as you can see the muffin has a void in it where the marshmallow once was... Just like the empty tomb of Jesus! Oh and they taste amazing too!
We also decorated Easter eggs. We dyed the eggs with Paas dye and let them dry really well. Then decorated them with sharpie markers.I am really missing my girls... My guys were not very creative. I sure wish, Erin, Yujin and Olive were here. We could have had a lot of fun with this.
It's fun to have traditions but it is also fun to try something new~ Don't be afraid to have fun.
Today was a glorious and beautiful day!
